Roman’s Pizza Pie Prices: Every Flavour, and When a Small Pizza Is Better
A Roman’s Pizza Pie is pizza filling sealed inside a pocket of dough, so there’s no crust edge and you can eat it with one hand. It’s a single serving, it’s the cheapest hot food Roman’s sells, and it’s the part of the menu people ask us about most.
The Roman’s Pizza Pie price is between R26.90 and R29.90, depending on the filling. Here’s the full list, the deals Roman’s runs on them, and how they stack up against a small pizza and the other cheap lunches around.

Most of the range sits at R27.90. BBQ Chicken and Mushroom Margherita are the cheapest at R26.90, and the Sweetelicious Chicken & Feta is the only one that goes up to R29.90. Some stores also list a chocolate dessert pie at R29.90, although it doesn’t appear on every Roman’s menu.
Pizza Pie deals
Roman’s runs its pie specials mostly through its own app and website, not in store. The ones we’ve seen:
- Pies from R25.90 each when ordered through the Roman’s app or website.
- 2 Pizza Pies for R39.90, an online-only deal that ran for two days, 18 and 19 August. That’s under R20 a pie, the best price we’ve seen on them.
Roman’s announced that one on its Facebook page, so its social accounts are the place to watch if pies are your regular lunch. Pies were cheaper a few years ago, when Roman’s advertised them “from only R19.90”, and the starting price has crept up to R25.90 since.
Pie or small pizza?
This is the comparison most people don’t make. A small Sava Flava pizza at Roman’s is R29.90, and a small Margherita is R30.90. So for R2 or R3 more than most pies you get a whole small pizza, which you can share or save half of for later.
The pie still has its uses. It’s easier to eat in the car or at your desk, and there’s no box to deal with. If you’re sitting down to eat, though, the small pizza is the better value.

Vegetarian and halaal pies
Going by the fillings, the Mushroom Margherita and Triple Cheese are the two vegetarian pies. Roman’s doesn’t label them officially, so ask if you’re strict about it.
Halaal status depends on the store, not the brand. Many Roman’s branches are certified by SANHA, including Fordsburg, Overport, Gandhi Square and Rosmead, but others aren’t, and the menu includes ham and pepperoni.
