KFC specials South Africa - chicken burger, wings and loaded fries

KFC Specials This Month: What’s On in October 2026

KFC South Africa doesn’t keep a single specials page. Its deals are spread across a promotions list on its ordering site, a “limited time” section of the menu, and the KFC app, where some offers only show up once you’ve signed in. We went through all three again on 15 October 2026 and put what we found in one place, so you can check KFC specials today without digging through the app.

We update this page when the deals change. If you spot something we’ve missed, let us know.

KFC specials today: the day deals

These are the deals on KFC’s official promotions page:

DealWhat KFC listsPrice
Mampara Monday10 for R129R129
Kentucky Tuesday10 for R129R129
Kentucky Friday8 pieces, 2 large chips and 4 mini loavesR159
Mampara Day Deal8 pieces, 2 large chips and 4 mini loavesR159
Pay Day Weekend Deal12 for R170R170

KFC’s list doesn’t give dates for these or say which stores take part, so ask at the counter or check the app before you plan a meal around one.

Are they actually good value?

The R159 deal is the easiest to check, because everything in it is on the normal menu. Nine pieces, two large chips and four mini loaves would cost R261.30 at normal prices (a 9 Piece Bucket at R149.90, large chips at R27.90 each, mini loaves at R13.90 each). The deal gives you one piece less for R102 less. That’s the best-value family meal KFC sells when it’s running.

The “10 for R129” and “12 for R170” deals are listed without saying 10 or 12 of what. If they’re pieces of chicken, they work out at R12.90 and R14.17 a piece. Compare that with R14.28 a piece for a 21 Piece Bucket, the cheapest per piece on the normal menu, and R16.66 for a 9 Piece Bucket. Either way, they’re worth asking about.

New in October: the Mighty Bucket for One, R79.90

KFC’s main new deal this month is the Mighty Bucket for One at R79.90: two pieces of Original Recipe chicken, two wings, two strips, chips and a drink. KFC launched its campaign for it on 12 October 2026, with a joke “No Sharing Contract” you can sign in store, on TikTok or on KFC’s website.

The ordering menu lists several builds under the Mighty Bucket name: the standard 2 pieces, 2 wings and 2 strips, a Zinger version and a Dunked version, plus a 2 pieces and 4 wings bucket and a 4 wings and 4 strips bucket. Each comes with or without a Buddy drink. KFC only advertises the R79.90 starting price, so the Zinger, Dunked and other builds may cost a little more at your store.

Is it worth it? A Streetwise Two (two pieces and chips) is R39.90, so the extra R40 buys you two wings, two strips and a drink. If you were going to add a drink anyway, that’s a fair price for the extra chicken.

Limited-time menu items

KFC’s “New: Limited Time” section had these on 15 October 2026:

  • The Mighty Bucket range (see above), in plain, Zinger and Dunked versions.
  • 5 Variety Strips Feasts, in plain, Dunked and Zinger versions.
  • Streetwise 6, 7 and 8 with Mega Chips. On Mr D these were R150.90, R176.90 and R201.90, and they’re likely to be cheaper at the counter.
  • A Streetwise Two with regular chips, and KFC’s new Mega Chips on their own.
  • The Big 6 Deal at R139.90.
  • A Chocolate Kit Kat Sundae. The Kit Kat Krusher is no longer in this section; KFC’s drinks now sit under its Kwench range, and our KFC Krushers page has the drink prices.

Since September, the Crunch Masters (including the Portuguese Prego and Argentinian Chimichurri versions) have moved out of the limited-time section into the regular wraps menu, and the Streetwise Double Deal is no longer listed. KFC doesn’t publish end dates for any of these. The Streetwise 7 is the one most worth a look, because until now there’s been no way to get exactly seven pieces of chicken at KFC, and the Streetwise 8 gets you eight pieces without the burgers that come in a Family Treat.

Discounts on Mr D

When we last checked on 25 September 2026, Mr D was running its own KFC discounts at the Cape Town Station store: a Fully Loaded Box Buddy for R110 (down from R129.90), a Colonel Boxmaster for R75 (down from R87.90) and a Zinger Boxmaster for R78 (down from R91.90). These are discounts on delivery prices, which are higher than the counter to start with, so they don’t always beat walking in.

KFC Rewards in the app

KFC launched its Rewards programme inside the KFC app at the end of July 2026. It’s free to join, and it’s now where most of KFC’s personal deals live. Each month members get:

  • three “missions”, and finishing all three earns you a free meal reward
  • four exclusive offers that load automatically
  • special drops on the 11th of every month at 11:00, with prizes such as concert tickets, consoles and sneakers

You can share rewards with a friend or donate them to Add Hope, KFC’s children’s feeding programme. KFC doesn’t publish what the monthly rewards are worth, and the missions are personalised, so the only way to see yours is in the app.

The R2 Streetwise Two

In early September, a TikTok video went viral claiming that new KFC app users could get a Streetwise Two for R2 by scanning a QR code in store. KFC hasn’t confirmed it, it isn’t on KFC’s promotions list, and people who tried it reported mixed results. KFC did run a real R2 Streetwise Two through the app on Black Friday in 2024, limited to the first 1,000 customers a day. Until KFC confirms the September version, treat it as a rumour.

In-store competitions

KFC’s promotions list also has several spend-and-win competitions: spend R120 or more for a chance at a R2,000 KFC voucher or a PS5 bundle, R150 or more for “fuel and KFC for a year”, or R200 or more for a share of R20,000. They don’t lower the price of anything, but if you’re spending that much anyway, keep your slip.

New on the list in October are a few small in-store extras: a free small chips or mini loaf when you add 4 strips to a meal, a R9.90 ice cream cone when you upsize to a box meal, and a free key ring or phone stand on orders through KFC’s own delivery. KFC’s list gives no dates, so ask at the counter.

Which special to go for

For a family, the R159 deal (8 pieces, 2 large chips, 4 mini loaves) is the clear winner when it’s on. For one person on a tight budget, a normal Streetwise Two at R39.90 is still the cheapest proper meal; if you want more chicken and a drink, the new Mighty Bucket for One at R79.90 is the deal to look at. And if you order KFC more than once a month, join Rewards, because that’s where KFC is putting its best offers now.

KFC specials: common questions

What is KFC’s Tuesday special?

Kentucky Tuesday is listed as “10 for R129”. Check with your store that it’s running that week.

Does KFC have specials today?

The day deals depend on the day of the week and the store. The Mighty Bucket for One (from R79.90), the limited-time items and the Rewards offers in the app run every day while they last.

Is the R2 KFC deal real?

A R2 Streetwise Two ran through the KFC app on Black Friday 2024. The September 2026 version shared on TikTok hasn’t been confirmed by KFC.

Where can I see KFC’s current deals?
