Roman’s Pizza Menu Prices in South Africa
Roman’s Pizza is one of South Africa’s biggest home-grown pizza chains, built around a simple pitch: big pizzas, small prices. Founded in Pretoria and now trading from more than 250 stores nationwide, it’s best known for the Sava Flava deal (two large pizzas for one low price), alongside a full menu of gourmet pizzas, pasta, salads, sides and drinks. Below is the current Roman’s Pizza price list for South Africa, covering every category on the menu.

Roman’s Pizza Specials & Combo Prices
Roman’s Pizza’s specials are the main reason it competes so hard on price against Debonairs and Panarottis. The Sava Flava deal is the headline offer, but there are smaller combo options too if you’re eating solo.
| Special / Combo | Price |
|---|---|
| Double Large Sava Flava (2 Large Pizzas) | R169.80 |
| Family Meal Deal | R199.90 |
| Double Delight Combo | R19.90 |
| Combo Sava Flava Small Pizza | R36.90 |
| Combo Pizza Pie | R34.90 |
| Chicken Pops Combo | R39.90 |
| Chicken Strips Combo | R44.90 |
| Caramel Dessert Pie Combo | R28.90 |
| Chocolate Dessert Pie Combo | R33.90 |
The Double Large Sava Flava deal is not actually a discount
This is the single most useful thing to know before you order. The Double Large Sava Flava is R169.80 for two large pizzas, which is exactly two times the R84.90 large Sava Flava price. To the cent. It is a convenience bundle, not a saving, so there is no reason to feel you are missing out by ordering the two pizzas individually.
The combo upgrades elsewhere in the table are more honest and very consistent, costing between R4 and R7. A Combo Sava Flava Small Pizza is R36.90 against R29.90 for the pizza alone, a R7 step. The Chicken Pops Combo at R39.90 and Chicken Strips Combo at R44.90 both add R5 to their standalone items. The Caramel and Chocolate Dessert Pie Combos both add exactly R4.
The Double Delight Combo at R19.90 is the cheapest line in the entire specials table, and the Family Meal Deal at R199.90 is the largest single order on the menu.
Roman’s Pizza Menu Prices (Small & Large)

Small or large? Roman’s is one of the few places where two smalls win
Most pizza advice says always buy the large. At Roman’s the arithmetic is less clear-cut, because the large costs between 2.4 and 2.8 times the small depending on which pizza you pick, and a large is not close to three times the food.
The gap is widest at the cheap end. A large Sava Flava is R84.90 while two small Sava Flavas cost R59.80, so two smalls save you R25.10 and give you two different toppings into the bargain. That is a 2.84 times multiplier from small to large, the steepest on the menu.
At the premium end the multiplier tightens considerably. Bacon, Avo & Feta runs R53.90 small to R129.90 large, a 2.41 times step, and the Supreme and Four In One both sit at roughly 2.50 times. So the more expensive the pizza, the more sense the large makes.
One pricing quirk worth catching: the Margherita is the only pizza whose small costs more than a Sava Flava (R30.90 against R29.90) but whose large costs less (R81.90 against R84.90). At R81.90 the large Margherita is the cheapest large pizza Roman’s sells.
Verdict: if you are ordering from the R29.90 Sava Flava tier, buy two smalls rather than one large. If you are ordering from the R45.90-and-up tier, buy the large.
Roman’s Pizza Pasta & Salad Prices
Not everyone wants pizza every visit. Roman’s Pizza also runs a small but solid pasta and salad range, including a halaal-friendly chef salad.
| Pasta | Price |
|---|---|
| Chicken Romana | R79.90 |
| Chicken Lasagne | R79.90 |
| Meat Lasagne | R79.90 |
| Vegetarian Lasagne | R79.90 |
| Salad | Price |
|---|---|
| House Salad | R45.90 |
| Greek Salad | R54.90 |
| Chicken Salad | R66.90 |
| Chef Salad (Halaal) | R66.90 |
Pasta and salad prices in context
All four pasta dishes (Chicken Romana, Chicken Lasagne, Meat Lasagne and Vegetarian Lasagne) are priced identically at R79.90, so the choice is purely about what you feel like eating. It also means the vegetarian lasagne carries no discount despite having no meat in it.
For context, R79.90 is only R2 less than a large Margherita at R81.90. If you are feeding more than one person, the pizza is the better buy; if you are eating alone, the pasta is a single portion rather than something you will be reheating tomorrow.
On the salads, a House Salad is R45.90, a Greek Salad is R54.90, and the Chicken Salad and Chef Salad both sit at R66.90. That puts the Chef Salad within R15 of a large Margherita, which is the same pattern we see across South African fast food: the salad is priced as a light main, not as the cheap option.

| Chicken Strips (Plain) | R39.90 |
Pizza Pie is Roman’s Pizza’s answer to a grab-and-go pastry: a folded, hand-held pocket rather than a flat pizza slice. It’s a cheap option when you want something quick between meals.
| Pizza Pie | Price |

| BBQ Chicken | R26.90 |

The starters are simple: Chicken Pops at R34.90 and plain Chicken Strips at R39.90. Sides and dips are all R11.90 or R12.90, with the sauces (chilli, peri peri, Greek dressing and honey mustard) at R11.90 and the fresh chilli, garlic and jalapeno at R12.90.

Drinks and desserts: the 2L is the standout value line
Every 330ml can (Pepsi, Pepsi Max, 7 Up Free, Mirinda and Mountain Dew) is R9.90, which makes Roman’s one of the few places you can still buy a soft drink for under R10.
The 2L bottles are R24.90, and this is where the real value sits. A 2L costs about 2.5 times a 330ml can but holds roughly six times the liquid, so you get more than double the drink per rand by taking the 2L. If you are ordering pizza for more than one person, the bottle is the obvious call.
On desserts, the Caramel Dessert Pie is R24.90 and the Belgian Chocolate Dessert Pie is R29.90. Both are cheaper as combos from the specials table, at R28.90 and R33.90 respectively once a drink is bundled in, a R4 upgrade either way.

How Roman’s Pizza Prices Can Vary by City
Roman’s Pizza runs a national price list, but franchise pricing in South Africa is never perfectly uniform: a branch in Sandton or Cape Town CBD can price slightly above a branch in a smaller town, and delivery-platform pricing (Uber Eats, Mr D Food) usually carries a markup over walk-in prices. The prices above reflect Roman’s Pizza’s standard national list. City-by-city comparisons covering Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria are on our roadmap.
